Employment Benefits

  • Health Insurance

    RESPOND offers Tufts Health Plan HMO - $1,000 Deductible. RESPOND pays 100% of the deductible. Employees are eligible for this benefit after the first day of employment and must work 35 hours or more a week to be eligible to enroll. RESPOND pays 80% (single) and 80% (family) of the premium towards the cost of the plan.
  • Dental Insurance

    Delta Dental is offered for dental coverage. Employees are eligible for this benefit after the first day of employment and must work 35 hours or more a week. Open Enrollment is April 1st. RESPOND currently pays 100% of the premium towards the cost of this plan.
  • Flexible Spending Plan (Section 125 Plan)

    This plan allows employees to have money deducted from their paycheck on a pre-tax basis to save on dependent care or any medical, dental and vision care expenses that may not be covered by a health/dental plan.  
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan

    RESPOND allows employees to contribute to a 401k plan through Paychex Retirement Services.   You must work a minimum of 910 hours per year to be eligible.
  • Paid Earned Time (Vacation, Sick, Personal)

    The purpose of the vacation benefit is to give employees a period of rest and relaxation, which RESPOND considers essential to health and morale. Vacation days for full-time employees are accrued on a bi-weekly basis.  Part-time employees accrue vacation time at a pro-rated rate on a bi-weekly basis according to the hours they are regularly scheduled to work on a weekly basis.
  • Holidays

    RESPOND recognizes the following holidays.  The RESPOND Community Service Center/ Administrative Operations (main office) will be closed on holidays. Employees who do not work in programs and services, and whose departments operate on a Monday- Friday schedule, will observe a Sunday Holiday on the following Monday and a Saturday holiday on the previous Friday.  It is at the discretion of the Executive Director if a program will operate on any one of the designated holidays. The shelter as a 24 hour/365 day a year program operates every day including holidays.

  • Bereavement Leave

    Employees will be granted a paid leave of absence, not to exceed three (3) days with pay, in the event of a death in the employee’s immediate family, which RESPOND considers a spouse, significant other, parent, brother, sister, child, grandparent, or parent of a spouse or significant other. One (1) day excused absence with pay will be provided in the case of death of other close family members.
  • Worker’s Compensation Insurance

    All employees are provided coverage in accordance with the requirements of the applicable state’s Workers’ Compensation Laws.  Every accident or injury, no matter how slight, which occurs during employment, must be reported to Human Resources within 24 hours. 
  • Direct Deposit

    Employees are allowed to have their paychecks direct deposited into a designated account.  A complete direct deposit form must be submitted to the HR department.  An employee can defer whole or part of a paycheck in up to three accounts.
