RESPOND, Inc. is New England's first domestic violence agency and the second in the nation.  Founded in Somerville, MA in 1974, RESPOND has been working for 33 years to help women and their children to achieve safe, dignified, independent lives free from emotional abuse and violence.

RESPOND has helped tens of thousands of women and their children throughout Greater Boston and beyond by providing a range of services including a 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter, individual advocacy, support groups, legal advocacy, safety planning, linguistic outreach to women from non-English speaking communities, as well as community education and outreach initiatives.
