Definitions

Domestic Violence has many faces. It can be the psychological, physical and/or the sexual abuse of an intimate partner. Abuse often begins with an obsessive need for power and control by the batterer and can be carried out through a pattern of isolation, deprivation, intimidation and/or battery. (A broader definition may include child abuse, elder abuse and teen dating violence as domestic violence.)
