Fundraising events are more than just raising dollars, they’re an opportunity to connect people, share joy, and build collective support for survivors. That spirit was on full display at The Rockery & Friends concert, a third-party fundraising event benefiting RESPOND.
Third party events are fundraisers created and hosted by community members, businesses, or local partners who believe in a shared mission. From concerts and dinners to birthday fundraisers, these events invite community members to support survivors in ways that feel personal, creative, and fun. They often introduce new audiences to RESPOND and remind us that advocacy can look many different ways.

The Rockery & Friends concert did exactly that. Guests gathered to enjoy live music, connect with neighbors, and support a cause that matters deeply to our community. The atmosphere was welcoming, energetic, and rooted in shared values.
Rachel Angerhofer, who attended on behalf of RESPOND, shared that everyone was so genuine in their support of RESPOND and our work. From the bands to the local businesses and individuals who donated gift cards, the care for survivors was clear.
The sense of community extended beyond the stage. The Rockery’s former singer even returned to join the band for a few songs, adding a special moment to the night. Family members of the bandmates pitched in as well. As Rachel described it, they were all so invested in supporting survivors, and the energy in the room was overwhelmingly positive and enthusiastic. It was more than a concert; it was a community showing up with heart.
Moments like these remind us that there is no single way to support survivors. Often, it begins by showing up and listening. A song, a shared conversation, or gathering together can be the first step.
Alongside the powerful support we see through community-led events, RESPOND also creates our own opportunities to bring people together around this work, hosting fundraising events throughout the years. These events, like our Next Chapter Gala, allow us to gather our community around a shared vision, highlight survivor strength, and raise critical funds that sustain our programs. RESPOND-hosted events bring together staff, survivors, supporters, and community members to deepen connection, celebrate impact, and create space for reflection, gratitude, and forward momentum.

Both types of events matter. Third party fundraisers expand our reach and invite new creative approaches to bringing people together. RESPOND-hosted events anchor our mission and bring our community together at key moments. Together, they create a powerful ecosystem of support that fuels safety, stability, and possibility for survivors.
If you missed the concert, there are many ways to get involved. Our largest fundraising event of the year, The Next Chapter Gala, takes place this March and will bring together supporters, partners, and survivors for an unforgettable evening of impact.
Whether you attend, sponsor, host, or cheer us on, you are part of what makes this work possible.
Join us at the gala and get your tickets today as we continue building a community where survivors are supported and never stand alone.
