Thank you for your interest in volunteering or interning with RESPOND!
Interning
We are accepting undergraduate internship applications on a rolling basis.
RESPOND offers two Bachelors-level internship opportunities:
- Sarah Hancock Internship in our Community-based Programs: in this role, the intern will support survivors of domestic violence seeking safety and empowerment.
- Survivors of Abuse Feeling Empowered for Re-entry (SAFER) Internship: in this role, the intern will work with survivors who are incarcerated at the Suffolk County House of Correction.
Detailed descriptions can be found here. Both opportunities are best suited for those majoring in psychology, mental health, criminal justice, public health, or sociology, though applicants focusing on other areas of academic study may also apply.
Applications must include a resume and a thoughtful cover letter that conveys the applicant’s interest in the internship, describes relevant experiences (employment or otherwise) that relate to the work, and outlines the skills and/or assets that make the applicant a strong candidate. An applicant may also share what they hope to gain from being selected for this opportunity or how this will help them on their academic or career trajectory.
For questions about interning or to submit an application for internship, please contact RESPOND’s Human Resources Department at (617) 625-5996 or by emailing hr@respondinc.org.
Volunteering
We have currently suspended most of our volunteer engagement.
We look forward to welcoming volunteers back into our programs soon. Support from our many dedicated volunteers brings us one step closer to ending domestic violence in our community.
If you are interested in volunteering with RESPOND’s programs, please check back in the spring of 2023. If you are interested in learning about administrative or fundraising projects that may be available in the meantime, please email us at info@respondinc.org.
