SOMERVILLE, MA – Somerville-based domestic violence agency RESPOND Inc. is partnering with Boston meal kit delivery service Just Add Cooking for the third annual Chili Cook-Off on Jan. 26.
Many area restaurant-affiliated chefs are expected to compete at the event, which will take place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Boston-Bunker Hill. The contestant with the chili recipe that wins “Crowd Favorite” will be awarded the opportunity to have the dish featured in a Just Add Cooking box this spring.
The event will raise money for RESPOND’s programs and services aimed at ending domestic violence, and $1 from each box sold the week the winner is featured will be donated back to RESPOND, as well.
Past competitors include The Brickyard, Cuisine en Locale, East End Grille, Just Add Cooking, Mt. Vernon Restaurant, Orleans Restaurant, Casa B, Forge Baking Co., Holiday Inn and Tufts University Dining. Guest judges will also award prizes for “Most Creative,” “Best Classic” and “Best Vegetarian,” while everyone will submit votes for “Crowd Favorite.”
